Richard Caldwell Skeen died peacefully at home in Draper, Utah on December 14, 2014.  He was born on May 7, 1942 to Edwin Jededidah and Hazel Caldwell Skeen in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He married Judith Ann Appell on Jun 25, 1965 in Galva, Illinois. She survives.  They are the parents of six children: Gwendolyn (Scott) McMillin, Richard (Kimberly) Skeen, Michael (Julie) Skeen Theodore (Anne Lin) Skeen, Amber (Radu) Alexandru and Timothy (Jennifer) Skeen; and nine grandchildren, Kaci McMillin, Clayton Skeen, Trevor Skeen, Tyler Skeen, Erin Skeen, Jack Skeen, Theodore L. Skeen, Elizabeth Alexandru, and Allison Skeen.

Richard graduated from the University of Utah with a B.S. in Accounting and and M.B.A.  He received his J.D. degree from the Ohio State University Law School.  He practiced law in Utah and was a partner in three law firms:  Skeen and Skeen, Van Cott Bagley, and Stoel Rives.

He served as a captain in the U.S. Army.

Richard had a great sense of humor and always made people smile. He was the ultimate family man and really enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.  He also loved playing golf and spending time on the beach in San Diego. He was a loyal fan of the University of Utah basketball and football programs and the Ohio State University football program.

A visitation was held December 19, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 at Larkin Sunset Lawn.  Golf attire was requested.
