There were a few things about Merlin’s death that were interesting. First he died at the home of Lyman Skeen Jr. on 2531 Orchard. The obituary states that this is also where the funeral will be held. He is erroneously listed as ‘female’.
The cause of death is bronchitis, with exhaustion, after 10 days as contributing. I think this is heart-breaking. His death certificate is signed by Lyman, Jr.
Also, Mary signed the death certificate. In almost every death certificate I have seen for the family, it has been signed by a man. The fact that William Rawson wasn’t there is somewhat telling to me.
He is buried next to his Mother, Mary Ellen.
